On June 11-16, the international Olympiad “GENIUS Olympiad 2018″ was held, which was attended by more than 1,300 students from around the world. 8 Ukrainians went to the competition and all won prizes. The competition was held in the United States on the basis of the State University of New York at Oswego.
The gold was won by the work of the “Innovative technology of making paper out of fallen leaves” Valentine Fricki from Transcarpathia, which has already been discussed in the paper “Skin cromogen”. The same gold was won by Ekaterina Malkina. The eleventh-grader from Mariupol invented the method of high-density polyethylene bioutilization.
Silver earned Kherson student Valery Tishchenko with the invention of”three-dimensional mechanical oscillation Converter into electricity.” The second silver rightfully belongs to Maxim Terentyev. Kherson won with the work ” development of devices to improve venous circulation with the help of electric current.”
Bronze went to the eleventh-grader Sofia petrishin from Lviv for the work ” Design and development of the device for the transmission of digital information to people with visual impairment.” Nikolai Veremchuk from Chernivtsi also won a bronze medal with the work ” Study of the influence of optical system parameters on the stability of the particle in the optical trap.”
The “GENIUS Olympiad 2018″ was founded by Oswego State University of New York (SUNY). The annual University international Olympiad is traditionally held in the second half of June. The competition itself is held in several stages and allows young researchers from around the world to share their scientific achievements. The age category of the contestants is from 12 to 18 years.
The mission of the Olympiad is to inspire students to contribute to the development of science, culture and art. This is an opportunity for the younger generation to come together to exchange ideas and gain new knowledge.
